Tonya Parris

My name is Tonya Parris. I graduated from the Watson School of Engineering at Binghamton University in 1992. I am currently vice-president of Goldman Sachs at New York and I manage a team of about 40 global Java, C++ and C# developers.

Binghamton prepared me certainly for life in general in terms of being on campus and being involved in several student activities and becoming a leader and being involved in particular student activities. For the work level it academically prepared me for graduate school, which I attended University of Pennsylvania and subsequently prepared me for the work world both at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.

Fondest memories are likely being part of a sorority, Delta Sima Delta Sorority Incorporated. I pledged when I was a sophomore. It's a public service sorority, public service organization, and most of the activities were around philanthropic things, making sure that things worked well in the community and also on campus.
