Think action, think advocacy

Sign up to become a member of our advocacy group, the Think Tank, and you'll help to build Binghamton’s reputation as the premiere public university in the Northeast. You'll also assure that Binghamton's tradition of excellence, innovation and service is clear in the minds of state and federal legislators who have such a significant impact on its future.

Binghamton is by all accounts an extraordinary public university. Our faculty, students, staff, alumni, and community and industry partners help to enhance New York's intellectual brain trust and grow the economy. By driving the transfer of important ideas, practices and innovations, Binghamton helps to enrich New York State, improving quality of life for us all.

What might be surprising to some is that the University, for all its successes, is still quite young. It was only six short decades ago that thoughts of its creation first fired the imagination of another small group of not-so ordinary people — the University's founders.

Since then, the University has grown from a small, regional liberal arts school holding classes in Quonset huts, to one of the nation's finest public research universities, offering doctoral programs in dozens of different fields in the arts, sciences, engineering, management, education, nursing and public administration.

And Binghamton's commitment to excellence doesn't stop at conventional boundaries.

Binghamton is globally engaged, sharing the fruits of its intellectual capital through activities that bridge geographic, political, cultural, economic and educational divides. Recognized many times over as a leader in international education, Binghamton brings the world to New York while putting New York on the map.
